Himalaya Food Company- Healthy or Junk?

So, recently I was invited for a food tasting session at Himalaya Food Cos. first outlet at Dwarka, Sector 7. With their slogan being #itsnotjunkfood. They use wholesome ingredients and no preservatives or any artificial substance in their food. So what’s on the menu? With appetizers, burgers, fries and healthy drinks they have simple and interesting menu at a reasonable price.

Coming to food & drinks I had- Falafel Burger, Paneer Nuggets, Zucchini Bites, Cinnamon Bites and Ginger Lime Soda.

Falafel Burger (2.5/5):  It was decent and had the essence of a bona fide falafel. Just, a bit extra tangy that overshadowed the flavour. But, overall it was good.

Ginger Lime Soda (3/5): What was good about it didn’t felt like an aerated drink. It had a refreshing taste and had a perfect blend of ginger and lime with pinch of spice.

Cinnamon Bites (3.5/5): This was my favourite of the lot. It was soft, spongy and had a rich cinnamon flavour. Yes, a bit oily but it had an amazing flavour so it was worth it. It goes well with your tea/coffee.

Paneer Nuggets and Zucchini Bites (1/5): So what really put me off was their fried stuff. It was all deep fried in “healthy” oil. The best option could have been it being air fried. The most oil you’d need to air fry is a tablespoon. Also, some foods can be air fried without any oil at all, which is great if your aim is to eat healthy.  The fried stuff was really not good not just it was oily but it had a bland taste.

So, I had a decent experience at Himalaya Food Company.  They just need to add few more stuffs in their menu and change the deep fried technique to distinct themselves from others as their aim is for healthy junk foods.
